The following day after ranting about newspapers annoying users for more ad revenue, Susan Conterno of fashionstylist.com.au and I made the bold move to implementing adsense ads on the fashion forum section of her fashion stylist website. Will we frustrate our users in the same way that I accused the newspapers of doing? I don’t think so. The google adsense ads are discreet and strongly related to the content of the site, and they do not impair the user experience at all. Have a look at the site, you be the judge.
The site receives well over 300 unique visitors a day and 6000 page impressions, so ad revenue should be enough to cover the running of the forum – which is our aim at the this time.
