Thanks for acknowledging my comments. Here is one or two others that I picked up.

1. Get listed in DMOZ
2. Get listed by Alexa

Both of these seem to give sites a boost due to many of the search engines using the DMOZ directory as a base index to crawl and whilst Im not sure how much attention they pay to Alexa, it is a high ranking site that in effect links to you, but also keeps a statistical patten of users visiting you, it also uses DMOZ content to try to give you related (usually geographicly or industry) sites that users visiting your site have also visited.

Both of these will give you a boost to your site ranking and visibility
