Simplest way to create a website?

Posted on Friday 25 November 2005

I often get asked - what is the simplest and cheapest way to create a website? Of coourse, it all depends on what you want.

A blog is the simplest and cheapest. For example - with a combination of blogger and blogspot you can create a website that you can show to the world at a link such as http://phuba.blogspot.com . This site is (currently) written using blogger, but hosted for about $10 a month (with www.mcgoohq.com.au) as it is quite simply the easiest way to get content up on the web. You can also add pictures if you want, and select any one from hundreds of templates.

However, blogging is not for everyone. The next step is a simple ‘one off’ website. This is if you want a very attractive ‘brochure-ware’ site. Brochure-ware is a term used to define sites that are static and dont get updated regularly.

How did you get the stinkin blue advertisement bar to dissapear using blogger? I use it and do ftp publishing to my own server which is at kevinwallenbeck.com.

I can’t see it in the template code that I chose. Any ideas?

When you are logged in to blogger, you select the template tab. Then change ‘Change the Blogger NavBar’ to ‘off’
